The leadership here at Grace Bible Fellowship is comprised of men who desire to know, feed, lead, and protect those whom God has placed under their care.  Through prayer and the ministry of the Word, they seek to sacrificially serve the body of Christ and equip the saints for the work of the ministry.  You can reach our leadership team through the church office at

  • Eric Bjerkaas - Elder

Eric and Andi have been members of GBF since April of 2019, and Eric began serving as an elder in January of 2021.

Before moving to the Illinois Valley in 2007 to teach at La Salle-Peru High School, Eric lived in Massachusetts, Virginia, the Azores, Germany, and California.

He and Andi married in 2009, and they have four children. His hobbies are whatever his children are interested in at the moment, but he enjoys soccer and running whenever he gets the opportunity.

Eric’s prayer for GBF is that we would be a church of increasingly Christ-like followers who lovingly speak the good news of Jesus so that others might also come to treasure and follow him.

  • Craig Baker - Deacon

Craig and his wife, Rita, have been attending Grace since February of 2017 and they became members in February of 2019.  They have been married since October 21, 1977.  Craig grew up on a farm 3 miles west of Wyanet, IL and moved to Princeton in 1986 for a job opportunity near his and Rita's parents.  Craig worked as an Accounting Controller at Josten's in Princeton until 1991 when he became the Corporate Accounting Manager at the News Tribune in La Salle.  Craig retired in April of 2020 for one week before taking a position with Marquis Energy in Hennepin as a Senior Accountant.

Craig enjoys spending time with his 7 grandchildren and their parents.  His greatest desire for GBF is for the church to be a beacon of light in the community and shine on and reflect Jesus Christ.

  • John Lindenmeyer - Deacon

John and his wife Mary have been attending Grace since 1996.  He became a member in June of 2019 and on January 12, 2020, John became a Deacon.  Throughout his years at Grace, John's greatest privilege has been playing worship music with many talented musicians.  John grew up in Peru and has now lived here for 32 years. He and his wife Mary were wed in 1975.

John retired from IVCH after 25 years. He enjoys the writings of C. S. Lewis and Charles Spurgeon.

  • Randy Shawback - Deacon

Randy began attending Grace in 1994 and became a member in October of 2011.  He grew up in Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois.  He met and married his wife Pat in Illinois in 1977.  They moved to Tennessee in 1986 but returned to Illinois in 1994.  After 45 years of trucking, Randy retired in 2017.  Randy has also worked as a machinist and worked in carpentry for 8 years.

Randy enjoys woodworking, old cars and trucks, gardening, Nascar, and tinkering around home.  He considers himself to be a jack-of-all-trades but master of none.

Randy's desire for GBF is that we would first remain faithful to God's Word in our preaching and teaching and that we would speak the truth (Word) in love, but with the power and authority with which it was written.  That we would reach the lost world through missions and be a lighthouse to our community and surrounding area. He has rejoiced the last few years in our love for, care, and concern for each other as we grow closer through fellow, visitation, and just really getting to know each other a little deeper. He's also excited and encouraged to see new and younger families coming to GBF with young children. They are the future of GBF.
